I Seem To Be Back . . .

The technicians left about 10:30 this morning, and so far so good. They discovered a couple of things that could be improved. The main thing was that the original technicians didn't make the best choice of cable to carry the signal as far as it needed to come from the central "box."

I've tried to catch up on your blogs. If I missed a post you'd really like me to read, let me know.

Oh, and I've been feeling for a while that I needed a more modern blog look. What do you think? I saved the old template, so I can put it back anytime, but I think I'll try this for a while unless my faithful readers howl.

It's good to be back online.

P.S. It's 6:00 AM Wednesday. The service held through the night. Hallelujah.

My only constructive criticism is I might go for a darker title color. The text is a good color, maybe something a shadedarker than the text?

Thanks, K. That was bothering me too.

Ruth, I like this, maybe because I'm used to a similar layout on my blog! It's clean and bright. Plus, I like your picture!

Glad to see you back online. I hope service continues uninterrupted and speedy.

I like the new colors in your layout. Glad you kept the roses, though.

So glad you're back with us!! YAY!

I like the new layout, but I liked the old one too. Your blog is easy to read, which is a factor for me, and I do like the 'clean' layouts.

The only thing with the new one is that I'm not sure the title picture is displaying properly in Firefox... it's all over to one side - is it meant to be?

Just asking.

Yes, Jay, that seems to be their default.

Late returns in from the outlying counties...the vote is split at our house. Mrs. RWP says your new format is harder for her to read. I think this goes back to the old serif vs. sans-serif arguments. I prefer serifs myself, but Arial or Helvetica or whatever it is seems to be taking over the world.

Note to commenters who don't have a clue what I'm talking about. When you type your comment in this box, the font has serifs. When your comment is displayed after being published, the font doesn't have serifs (sans-serif, get it?). Go figure....

I like your blog either way. Content has a lot to do with that.

Ruth Hull Chatlien said...

Ah, you might be right about some people have trouble with sans serif.

(I don't get serif in the box when I type. That's interesting.)

For people who don't know what a serif is, go here.

Anyone who has ever tried to read the word "Illinois" will have trouble with sans-serif. I will never believe otherwise.
