I know I don't usually post on Sundays, but I wanted to let you all know that I'm having a colonoscopy tomorrow. It's jut a diagnostic test because of turning 50, but I'd still appreciate prayers that everything goes well.
They are using general anesthesia, so I'll be out of it all day tomorrow and won't be around the blogosphere.
Today will be spent doing what's necessary to evacuate the nether regions. Pray that it goes well too. I have a sister-in-law who had to do this twice because she didn't get cleaned out enough.
Thanks.
Hmmm . . . "with flavor packs." Somehow, that's not too reassuring.

Good luck Ruth, with everything. And good for you, for taking care of yourself. My husband had to have a colonoscopy last year. It wasn't bad at all, he was back to normal the next day.
You are the second person I know who will be having this procedure tomorrow. I hope it goes well and that the results are uninteresting!
All I could think was that I wish I was your nurse....but then I thought about that AGAIN.....
LOL
It'll be fine!
Prayers for you! I had this done a while back when I turned 50 and it really wasn't bad at all. You will be fine--but the anticipation/prep is worse than the procedure!
I put something on my blog for you. J
Good luck, Ruth! I hope it all goes well and shows up nothing unusual!
Ruth, prayers are with you, both today and tomorrow. The prep seemed worse to me than the procedure when I had that a few years ago. It'll be okay.
I used the liquid. Wasn't out of commission for more than 4 hours. Hope everything comes out ok. 8>)
Good luck, Ruth. I know it is nerve wracking and scary to anticipate the whole thing.
I have had 2 colonoscopy's and watched the whole thing on the screen both times, talking to my doctor through them both. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers for today and tomorrow, and I await your post to see how you did.
Hope it goes well, Ruth!
:P
Thoughts and prayers are with you, Ruth.
Yuck! But you'll be fine. You really are going through the worst part today!
I'm glad you are doing this. Not fun --but better than not catching something that could be cured.
blessings m'dear.
Oh my southern belle...you won't feel very belle like tomorrow...or maybe already tonight. Grin...well...look at all the support of friends! Wonderful isn't it? I'll be thinking of you tomorrow kid. IT is a good thing to do these things well before any sign of problem...good on you!
The prep is the worst of it. I was in some sort of 'twilight', but it might as well have been general. I woke up not even realizing the procedure had been done. I went looking at model homes with a friend on the way home. I hope your's goes as smoothly, and that you get a clean bill of health. It's always such a relief. I had mine done before 50 because my mom and sister had benign polyps. My doctor likes to do them every 5 years, and this is the year. Oh joy!
I agree with everyone else that the prep is the worst of it. My last one was on a Monday, too. They use general anesthesia with me, too, because of my past surgery. I like the drugs!! This time tomorrow, Ruth, you'll be fine and probably hungry.
Ruth sending so many prayers!!
Happy to know what is in my VERY near future!!! Prayers and good thoughts heading your way!
Good luck "riding the black snake" as we say in these parts. I am only a year and 2.5 months from the trip myself. Sigh.
