a brief check-in post

I haven't died, and I'm not sick. I've just been busy, and I don't have much that I want to say lately.

A lot has been going on with Michael's film project. For example, the casting agent Michael hired already has his script in the hands of two well-known actors. We hope to hear something this week. If they turn us down, we have others on the list.

I have been missing my fiction writing, so I've gone back to working on the final revision of my novel. That's taking up my personal writing time, so I'm not blogging.

And as much as I love my nude figure class, I have desperately missed my color work. So I finally finished a colored-pencil piece I started last August (!). I'm very pleased with it.

I don't know how much I'm going to be blogging. I'm just sort of waiting to see what the inner spirit tells me.

Hope you are all well.

Hi Ruth! I still blog, but I hardly get to read other blogs. Time is a challenge for us all.

Your artwork is gorgeous. I am glad to read that you are well. Good thoughts, prayers and wishes for your fiction work too!

Wow? Although that hardly seems to do either your situation or Michael's justice. I'm happy for both of you. That artwork is amazing... I feel like I could just reach out, grab a tomato and slice it up in my next salad.:-)

We should only blog when we have something to say!
Your drawing continues to improve -- I'm amazed -- the perspective/depth (not sure these are quite the right terms) are excellent.

There is real life, and then there's blogging. Sounds like real life is busy and satisfying--a wonderful place to be.

Ruth, it's good to see you and your art. Thanks for emailing me. I'm not writing "the" paper, but am writing a little. Thanks for asking. Love.

What a great still life, Ruth!

I was referring to the drawing, but take it any way you want....

Nice picture, Ruth. What is the type of tomato that has the stripes?

It sounds as if you have a lot on your plate!
You have every reason to be proud of that drawing; it's very good.

Wonderful drawing, Ruth. Everything is so well done, but I am drawn (no pun intended) to your amazing rendering of the paring knife.
I hope you get to feeling tip-top soon.

Great drawing!! I felt the same way about reaching in and picking the knife up off the table.

Good luck with the actors. How exciting. Anytime you blog, I will read. Enjoy your life.

You sound happy. Michael's project soundsl like it's almost there. You're doing art that you love. All good stuff. Don't disappear. Write when you feel like it. OK?

I haven't been by because I have been sick, so I'm just playing catch up today. I love this still life of the vegetables. Makes me want to go buy a juicy heirloom tomato!

Oh, I forgot to tell you - I'm down in the dumps because the one grocery store that sold heirloom tomatoes on a regular basis went out of business! I'll have to wait for the farmer's markets - but they won't get rolling until June. Boo.

Glad you're back to your writing, that's so good for you.

love,
fiwa
